Ben Mulroney

Benedict Martin Paul "Ben" Mulroney (born March 9, 1976 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian television host. He grew up in Ottawa, Ontario.

He is the second of four children born to former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and Mila Pivnicki Mulroney. He has a law degree from Université Laval and a history degree from Duke University.

Mulroney is best known as the host of "Canadian Idol", the Canadian counterpart of "Pop Idol" and "American Idol", and host of the CTV entertainment magazine "eTalk Daily". Recently, he was appointed as the new National Ambassador for UNICEF Canada. From 2001 to 2002, he was entertainment reporter on CTV's "Canada AM". Mulroney also wrote a regular column for the "Toronto Sun", owned by Quebecor Inc., a company on whose board of directors Brian Mulroney sits.

Mulroney was one of several children of former Prime Ministers who became Canadian media personalities between 1998 and 2001. The others include Catherine Clark, Justin Trudeau and Alexandre Trudeau. While Brian Mulroney and Pierre Trudeau had a poor relationship, the younger Mulroney was invited to and attended Justin's wedding.
