Alastair Reid

Alastair Reid

Alastair Reid (born 1926) is a poet and a scholar of South American literature from Galloway in Scotland. He is known for his lighthearted style of poems and for his translations of South American poets Jorge Luis Borges and Pablo Neruda. He has lived in Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Morocco, throughout Latin America, and in the United States, where he has been employed by "The New Yorker" magazine.
