Jolette Hernández

Jolette Hernández Navarrete (born January 21, 1984) is a Mexican participant in a Mexican reality show, "La Academia". She was arguably the most controversial participant and is credited for the seasons very high ratings. Jolette always wanted to be an artist; after finishing her school she studied Communications at university. In 2005 Jolette decided to enter the castings of the Tv Azteca's Reality Show "La Academia" , where she was finally accepted and became one of the 18 students who participated on that reality show. She lasted there 17 weeks, being one of the most supported students. Jolette's participation in this reality show was undeniably controversial: although her performances on stage were harshly criticized by Lola Cortez and Arturo López Gavito (members of the critics panel), she had the ability to arouse sympathy among the audience, which caused her a prolonged stay on the show, despite her obviously limited vocal capabilities.

Towards the end of the show, and looking at the popularity and sympathy that Jolette's exceptional temper and persistence aroused not only in Mexico, but also in Latin America and parts of the USA, TV Azteca decided to support the promising star. When everything indicated that Jolette was going to continue her career with them, she decided to leave because of discrepancies with people from the same TV station. This came after a heated exchange between Jolette and the critics on the panel. A disrespectful answer to a question from critic Arturo Lopez Gavito angered her teachers, who rebuked her publicly, and she left the show. At this moment in time, Jolette's future is unclear, being her return to TV Azteca possible under new conditions. After her participation in "La Academia", two albums were released: One CD called "Mi Sueño en La Academia" and a CD+DVD called "Mi Sueño en La Academia" as well. She has been spotted with TV Azteca's main competition.
