Clara Whitehill Hunt

Clara Whitehill Hunt (1871 – 1958) was an American librarian who wrote children's books.^[1]

Background

She was born in Utica, New York, graduated from the New York State Library School in 1898, and for several years taught in the public schools. She worked in the library in Philadelphia and at the Newark Free Public Library.

In 1903 she became superintendent of the Children's Department in the Brooklyn Public Library. She lectured on library topics and wrote: What Shall We Read to the Children? (1915); About Harriet (1916); The Little House in the Woods (1918); and Peggy's Playhouses (1924).
