Fisk was first encountered when the refugee fleet discovered the "Pegasus", learning the ship had survived the Cylon attack on the colonies. Fisk portrayed himself as a "by-the-book" officer, who was fearful of his superior, Cain.cite episode| episodelink=Pegasus (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Pegasus| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]

As the crews from both Battlestars began to interact, Fisk soon befriended his "Galactica" counterpart Colonel Saul Tigh. A rather inebriated Fisk told Tigh that Admiral Cain had shot her original XO in cold blood for daring to question an order. This led to Fisk's promotion to XO. Fisk then told Tigh that he was only joking, but harrowing suspicions about Cain were already spreading throughout the fleet. In a later discussion with Tigh, Fisk revealed how Cain ordered several civilian ships to be scrapped for parts, and then threatened to kill the families of those who wouldn't agree to join the crew.cite episode| episodelink=Resurrection Ship (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Resurrection Ship| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]

Admiral Cain meanwhile, became convinced that Commander Adama was untrustworthy and unqualified to command the "Galactica". During a mission plan to strike the Cylon Resurrection ship, Cain ordered Fisk to take a team of loyal Marines to the "Galactica" CIC and assassinate Adama after the strike was completed. Unbeknownst to Cain, Adama likewise had planned her assassination. He had asked Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, whom Cain had begun to trust, to get close to Cain and shoot her in the head. At the last minute however, both Cain and Adama called off their plans. A greatly relieved Fisk burst into laughter.cite episode| episodelink=Resurrection Ship (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Resurrection Ship| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]

Later, Fisk went to visit the imprisoned Lt. Karl "Helo" Agathon and Chief Galen Tyrol in the "Pegasus" brig. He had interrupted two enlisted crewman accompanied by marines who were taunting and abusing Tyrol and Agathon, and gave them a stern dress-down. Fisk said that the man that Helo and Tyrol accidentally killed, Lieutenant Thorne, was greatly admired and that many of the "Pegasus" crew, himself included, owed Thorne their lives. He then proceeded to dismiss the prisoners' claims that they were trying to prevent Thorne from raping the copy of Number Eight later known as Lt. Sharon "Athena" Agathon during an interrogation, with the statement: "You can't rape a machine". Nevertheless, after Cain was killed by the Cylon prisoner Gina, Fisk released Tyrol and Helo, under President Roslin and the newly promoted Admiral Adama's authority.cite episode| episodelink=Resurrection Ship (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Resurrection Ship| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]

Fisk was promoted to Commander and assumed command of the "Pegasus" after Cain's death.cite episode| episodelink=Resurrection Ship (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Resurrection Ship| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)] However, this did not last long. Fisk was a key player in the fleet's black market ring, but his greed raised the ire of Phalen, the market's leader, who had Fisk garrotted in his quarters.cite episode| episodelink=Black Market (Battlestar Galactica)| title=Black Market| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]

Fisk succeeded Cain as "Pegasus" commander, and later was succeeded by Barry Garner, the ship's chief engineer, and finally by Lee Adama.cite episode| episodelink=The Captain's Hand (Battlestar Galactica)| title=The Captain's Hand| series=Battlestar Galactica (2004 TV series)]
