The son of the composer
Kazimierz Sikorski , he was born, and eventually died inWarsaw . He was a pupil at the Warsaw conservatory where his father taught, and was also a pupil ofZbigniew Drzewiecki there. Thanks to a scholarship from the French government, he studied 1965-66 inParis withNadia Boulanger . From 1975-76, as a recipient of a Senior-Fulbright Scholarship from the US government, he worked at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center inNew York City .His works
He is the main so-called "Polish
minimalist " (the other:Zygmunt Krauze .In addition to piano works and radio opera, Sikorski composed numerous instrumental works, among them:
