Blitz was a street punk band from New Mills, Derbyshire, England. Comprised of both punk and skinhead members, they were enthusiastically championed by "Sounds" magazine writer Garry Bushell. Another Blitz song, "Warriors", was covered by The Distillers and Judge. The band Oxymoron has also covered the Blitz song "New Age". Decades after the original Blitz lineup split, guitarist/songwriter Alan "Nidge" Miller recruited new members and performed concerts under the band's name. On February 10, 2007, Miller was struck by a car and died on impact after walking on to a freeway after a show in Austin, Texas.
