Aaron Fiora (born 19 April 1981) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Richmond career

Fiora was selected in the 1999 AFL Draft at pick number 3 by the Richmond Tigers. He was considered at the time to be one of the most talented youngsters in the junior leagues. Fiora played mainly as a wingman and showed pace and excellent skills. Unfortunately Richmond supporters were not patient with his development, with Fiora suffering from inconsistency.

t Kilda career

At the end of 2004 Fiora was traded to St Kilda as part of a deal involving Troy Simmonds and Heath Black, with the Saints giving him a second chance. He was still a fringe player but played several solid games in 2005. His 2006 season was much quieter, however, and he struggled with form despite playing 17 matches.

Fiora was retained when new coach Ross Lyon took over in 2007 and was given the No. 17 jumper, previously worn by tough midfielder Stephen Powell. Under Lyon's tutelage Fiora enjoyed an excellent and consistent season, having improved his offensive running ability. He became a regular goalkicker for St Kilda in 2007 and averaged 15 disposals, 5 marks and 2 tackles over the course of the season and finally looks to have cemented his place as a solid AFL footballer.

Fiora has won the respect of fellow players, supporters and the general AFL community.It has been through hard running, strong marking and ability to create space running into the forward line which has noticeably helped his game. Also noticed is his dedication at the contest. When Fiora first played in the AFL his weight was 64kg now, through hard work and training, he has bulked up to 78kg giving him more size and strength in contests, an area in which Fiora was once questioned. Fiora seems to have a bright future at St Kilda and is a valuable midfielder in the line-up.
