The Toronto Comicon is a slang way of saying
Toronto Comic Book Convention (another alternate slang term is "Toronto Comic Con").During the 1980's, 1990's and into the 21st century numerous companies have utilized the term (or a variation of it) to promote single day
comic book conventions in the city ofToronto, Canada .Currently two companies in
Toronto are promoting events calledToronto Comicon /ComiCON:*
HobbyStar Marketing , who also put on the annualFan Expo Canada (the comic book subdivisions of that annual event is referred to as "Canadian National Comic Book Expo" or the "Comic Book Expo"). HobbyStar brands their single day fall and winter shows as "Toronto ComiCON", as well as a 2-day event in the spring that includes one of the days designated as the annual "Fan Appreciation Day" which includes a free admission program held in conjunction with participating Toronto-area comic book stores. All HobbyStar events are held at theMetro Toronto Convention Centre .*
Toronto comic book storeParadise Comics , holds an annual event that they called at first the Toronto Comicon, but later began referring to it as theParadise Comics Toronto Comicon . As of 2008, the Paradise show is held at theHoliday Inn on King .External links
