"The World of Donovan" is a compilation album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the United States (Epic Records 31210) in 1972 and did not chart. Another album titled "The World of Donovan" was released by Marble Arch Records in the United Kingdom in 1969.

History

In 1969, Epic Records released "Donovan's Greatest Hits" to compile Donovan's late 1960's hits in one collection. For fans who wanted to delve a little more into Donovan's catalog without getting each of the albums, Epic released a two LP compilation titled "The World of Donovan" in 1972. "Celia of the Seals" and "Song of the Wandering Aengus" had been released as a single the year before. Since "H.M.S. Donovan" was not released in the United States, "The World of Donovan" marked the first album release of the songs in the United States.
