Shawn Leflar

Shawn Leflar is a guest host of the coin shoppe show on ShopNBC network. He is most notable for a clip in which he attempts to demonstrate the strength of one of the katanas he is selling by banging it against a wooden table-top. The katana snaps in half and a piece cuts his arm and appears to stab him in his midsection. [http://www.anthurian.com/wp/etc/ouch.mpg] This clip was recently featured on VH1's Web Junk 20. He is also well known for his repeated and erroneous explanation on the benefits of "128mb" of video card memory via HSN.

Leflar is a former high school, college, and professional soccer player and sometimes updates the latest happenings on the sport during his on-air segments. Before joining Shop at Home, Shawn was a show host with 'Via TV' from 1994-1995.

Shawn grew up in Germantown, Tennessee outside Memphis. He majored in theatre in college and is an accomplished athlete, earning nine varsity letters in track, cross-country, soccer and wrestling. In 1998, he fulfilled his life long dream of attending the World Cup in France. Next on Shawn's life agenda is to "go surfing in Hawaii," he says, "or else be the grand marshall in a Disney Parade."

Shawn Leflar has a wife, Crystal, a son, Ryan, and a very smart and playful miniature black schnauzer named 'Graham Cracker Crunch.' His hobbies include motorcycles and soccer.
