Protocol were a British pop group formed in 2005 Produced by Mike Peden. They consist of:
* John Pritchard, lead vocals
* James McMaster, guitar
* Steven Oates, bass
* David Malik, keyboards/synthesizers
* Dom Joseph, drums

The five-piece, who have been honing their craft since meeting four years ago, ran their own club night, Vanity, in London. Protocol have also toured with New Order, Fisherspooner, The Bravery, Hard-Fi and played the Wireless and V Festivals.

The band were signed to Polydor, but were dropped in April 2006 after disappointing radio & tv coverage. The band have continued to tour however, and have celebrity fans such as Debbie Harry, and Tracey Emin.

The band have now split up. Dominic Joseph, the drummer, is now DJing in a duo called Leatherhead. They have high profile dates in June 07 playing with Chemical Brothers and Groove Armada in Scotland and Hull.
