KCME is an independent Colorado public radio station founded in Manitou Springs, Colorado in 1977 and signed on for the first time on December 24, 1979. It broadcasts on 88.7 FM with classical music. It aired jazz on Saturday mornings and evenings for most of the station's existence, but this has been discontinued. Its studios are now in the Colorado Springs city limits and its main broadcasting tower is now on Cheyenne Mountain, southwest of Colorado Springs, Colorado. KCME recently extended its broadcasting online to bring more listeners into its audience. KCME is also now using HD Radio.
