DeAndre DeWayne "D. D." Lewis (born January 8, 1979 in Bremerhaven, West Germany) is an American football linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He was originally signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He played college football at Texas.
Lewis played for the Denver Broncos between stints with the Seahawks.
Professional career
First stint with Seahawks
He was not selected in the 2002 NFL Draft, but signed with the Seattle Seahawks and started in all 16 games during his rookie season. Three seasons later, during Super Bowl XL, he blocked Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during a controversial touchdown call.
Denver Broncos
On April 26, 2007 he signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos. On October 15, 2007 the Broncos released him.
Return to Seattle
On March 25, 2008, the Seahawks re-signed Lewis to a one year deal.He plays outside linebacker but he is expected to be a backup middle linebacker for Lofa Tatupu.
