Nostalgia drag racing

Nostalgia drag racing

Nostalgia drag racing started in the late 80's, early 1990s when a few old Top Fuel racers pulled their top fuel front motored dragsters out of their barns and decided to fire them up and run them down the old dragstrip. I'm sure glad they did because it got a lot of people hooked. There have been a lot of nostalgia drag racing organizations come and go but, there are a few that have stuck it out. You can find nostalgia drag racing events run by NHRA and ANRA, to name a couple of the organizations that are still around and having fun. The NHRA has the "Cacklefest cars that show up and do the old push starts down the return road like the old days. It's to show people now, what they used to do back in the day. Nostalgia drag racing is bigger than ever and there are tons of nostalgia drag racing teams that try and preserve the true nostalgia look of the sixties and seventies.

In 2008, in support of Nostalgia drag racing, NHRA Museum started the Hot Rod Heritage Series, which has races across the U.S. with most of the points races on the West Coast.

The March Meet is the biggest sporting event in California every March. Despite the current recession, there is still record attendance as Nostalgia drag racing is one of the only sports that continues to grow.
