He was connected to the Liberal Party leaders expelled from thePrincipality of Bulgaria -Petko Slaveykov andPetko Karavelov .After the abdication of Prince Alexander I in 1886, Alexander Bogoridi was one of the candidates for the Bulgarian throne.
