- Slovenská pospolitosť - Národná strana
Slovenská pospolitosť - Národná strana was a national political party in
Slovakia . It was registered as apolitical party in January 2005, but on March 1, 2006 the Supreme Court of Slovakia ruled that the existence of the such a political party contradicts theConstitution of Slovakia and banned it.'Slovenská' means "Slovak" ; 'pospolitosť' is a rather archaic word meaning "solidarity" or "community" or "togetherness"; 'národná strana' means "national party."
Slovenská pospolitosť was formed in 1996 to bring together sections of the local [extremists] population and place them under the leadership of more astute ideologues. The group has links to the
International Third Position and has posted details of its activities on their websites. The movement has come under increasing pressure from the government of Slovakia in 2005, to the extent where the leading member Ján Kopunek has claimed that the Slovak police have been ordered to crush the group entirely [ [http://www.slovensko.com/news/2559 Police crushed the right extremist movement - Slovensko.com ] ] . Since then, Marián Kotleba has been charged with hate crimes "in absentia".They have been associated with the
European National Front and support their ideas ofEurope an nationalist unity. They hosted a meeting for some affiliated groups in 2004 [ [http://www.nationalvanguard.org/story.php?id=3382] ] .References
