He was selected with the 30th pick of the sixth round of the
2002 NFL Draft out of theUniversity of Texas-El Paso . In his four seasons with the Steelers, Mays recorded 11 receptions for 154 yards [14.0 avg.] , a longest catch of 46 yards and 0 touchdowns. He returned 36 kickoffs for 750 yards, a 20.8 average, a long of 35 yards, and no touchdowns or 40-yard returns. Lee Mays was cut by the Steelers after training camp but re-signed with the team four months later following the release ofrunning back Duce Staley and as of Fall 2008, he is no longer with the team and is currently a player assistant at hisalma mater UTEP.References
