Josep Maria Vallès (b. in Barcelona. 1940) is married and he has two children.

He studied Law (UB), Political Science (IEP, in Paris) and Business Management (ESADE, Barcelona). He is also lecturer in Political Science and Administration (UAB). In this university, he also was the Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology, where he was also Rector.

Political background

His political activity started in 1999 as a member and President of the association "Ciutadans pel Canvi" (CpC, Citizens for Change), which formed part of the electoral coalition PSC-CpC.
