Okeechobee High School is a high school for grades 10–12 in Okeechobee County, Florida. As of 2007 its enrollment is around 1,645.

The school belongs to the Okeechobee County School District.

2006 "Gay-Straight Alliance" lawsuit

In November 2006, then-senior Yasmin Gonzalez filed a lawsuit against Okeechobee High School and its Principal Toni Wiersma for not allowing the creation of a chapter of the "Gay-Straight Alliance".[1]

On July 30, 2008, the ACLU announced that the lawsuit filed against the Okeechobee County School Board had prevailed and the school was ordered to allow the Gay-Straight Alliance to meet on campus.[2]

2010 illegal drug trade investigation

On October 6, 2010, 16 students between the ages of 15 and 18 were arrested on 43 counts of possession and sale of illegal drugs including marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.[3]
