- Fioravanti (soft drink)
Fioravanti is one of the oldest soft drinks in the world. It was first sold in
1878 inEcuador . It was acquired by theCoca-Cola Company in1991 . It is a fruit-flavored, carbonated, soft drink available firstly in strawberry flavor, and later also in apple flavor. In the summer of 2001, a grape flavor was added, but lasted around 1 year and it was removed. There was also a Fiora manzana verde (green apple), with a strong green color, that also didn't succeed in the Ecuadorian market. In Ecuador it is almost a tradition to drink Fioravanti. It is commonly known as Fiora fresa (strawberry) or manzana (apple).
Due to the high number of Ecuadorian immigrants in
Spain , Coca-Cola has decided to bring strawberry-flavored Fioravanti to Spain, for a three-month test starting in mid-October 2006.
