bonuses = The Prix Rothschild is a Group 1 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbred fillies and mares which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Deauville Racecourse, and it takes place annually in late July or early August.

It was first run in 1929 as the Prix d'Astarté, named after Astarte (French name "Astarté"), a goddess of fertility. Races for fillies in France have traditionally been given the names of such mythological figures – others have included "Diane", "Minerve" and "Pomone".

Due to World War II the race was cancelled in 1940 and was then switched temporarily between Longchamp (1941–42, 1944–45) and Tremblay (1943). It has otherwise continually taken place at Deauville. The distance of the race has remained at 1,600 metres throughout its history. The fastest winning time is 1m 34.3s, recorded by Thorough in 1982.

When the present system of race grading was introduced in 1971, the Prix d'Astarté was initially classed as a Group 3 event. It was promoted to Group 2 status in 1982 and then to the highest level, Group 1, in 2004.

In 2008 the race was given its present title, the Prix Rothschild. This was to acknowledge the contribution made to French racing by the Rothschild family. The stud farm Haras de Meautry, owned by the Rothschilds since 1873, is located nearby to Deauville.
