- James Heuga
James "Jimmy" Heuga (born
September 23 ,1943 ) is a former American alpine ski racer and current advocate for the neurological diseasemultiple sclerosis .Heuga, of Basque descent, grew up in
Squaw Valley ,California , where his father Pascal was aski lift operator for 35 years. Jimmy started competing at age 5, appeared in a Warren Miller ski film at age 9, and made the U.S. Ski Team at age 15. He would later race for coach Bob Beattie in the 1960s at the University of Colorado and the U.S. Ski Team.* 1963
