Silver Jews are an indie rock group from New York City, formed in 1989 by David Berman along with Pavement's Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. David Berman has remained the only constant member.

The band has released several full-length albums, including the latest "Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea", released 2008 (Drag City). The Silver Jews toured the United States, Europe, and Israel in 2006. The band are set to begin the U.S. portion of their 2008 tour on August 28 in Columbus, Ohio.

Berman is also a published poet. His collection "Actual Air" was released in 1999 and received favorable reviews from "The New Yorker" and "GQ"Fact|date=August 2008.

Silver Jews' sixth album, "Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea" [http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/44039-silver-jews-work-on-new-lp-berman-seeks-intern] , was released on June 17, 2008.
