Baltimore, Ohio ,November 25 ,1942 ) is afolk music singer/songwriter who reached the height of his success during the 1960s. Lind is best known for histransatlantic chart hit single, "Elusive Butterfly ", which was a #5 hit in 1966.Career
Lind signed a
recording contract withLiberty Records 'subsidiary ,World Pacific Records , in 1965, and it was on that label that he had that particular hit. The single may have done even better in theUK Singles Chart had he not had competition from established British recording artistVal Doonican , who released acover version of the song. In the end, both versions of "Elusive Butterfly" made #5 in the UK in the spring of 1966.
