Hadley, Shropshire

Hadley is a part of the new town of Telford in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England. It lies approximately 5 miles north-west of Telford Town Centre, and is registered under the parish of Hadley and Leegomery. Close-by is the main market centre of Wellington and all of Wellington's abundant amenities, including the two town's colleges of Telford College Of Arts And Technology (TCAT) and New College (NC), although Hadley has a shopping centre too, which is served by a weekly Wednesday market, where anything from books, to fresh fish, vegetables, fruit and prams can be obtained. It is served by the 55 bus service between the Princess Royal Hospital, Wellington and Telford Town Centre (taking around an hour), via Donnington and Oakengates, which stops every 15 minutes at Hadley bus station. There is also the 25 bus route, which serves Wellington, Hadley, Overdale and Telford Town Centre, which only takes 25 minutes to get to the centre, yet it is infrequent. The 892 Roden (short for Rodington, an outlying village of Shrewsbury) to Telford Town Centre bus also stops in Hadley around three times a week.

Over the recent years, Hadley, which was originally a small village before the creation of 'Telford' as a whole in the 1960's, has seen an influx of residents from outside of Shropshire, and indeed, the UK. There are a large eclectic mix of English (coming from around 15 families who have resided in the area for centuries), Polish, Asian, West Indies and African residents. There are no residents of Oriental origin.
