Alexandr Yashin

Alexander Yashin, real name Popov "Александр Яковлевич Яшин (настоящая фамилия - Попов)" (1913 - 1968) - a Russian Soviet poet, writer.Born into a peasant family, Yashin taught in a village school before going to Moscow to attend the Literary Institute of the Union of Soviet Workers there. At twenty-eight he joined the Party. His favorite medium is vers of the facile, popular variety. In the words of a Soviet critic, he is "the poet of collective farm actuality."
