- MODTRAN
MODTRAN (MODerate resolution atmospheric TRANsmission) is a computer program designed to model atmospheric propagation of
electromagnetic radiation from 100-50000 cm-1 with a spectral resolution of 1 cm-1.The spectral region covered is the far-
infrared (100 cm-1 is 100µmwavelength ), throughvisible light , to the deepultraviolet (50000 cm-1 is 200 nm).Some aspects of MODTRAN are
patent ed by theUS Air Force . Software licenses are issued by the USAF but distribution is handled byOntar Corporation . MODTRAN core modules are written inFORTRAN .ee also
