Robkaay

Robkaay is an Australian author, but started his creative life off as amusician.

Robkaay began his music career in the late-1990s when he wrote, sung, managed and played bass in his first surf rock band called Wax Tadpole based in Perth, Western Australia in 1997.

In the year 2000, he moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he co-wrote, sung back-ups, managed and played bass in a politically aggressive rock band called Full Scale. After playing on the local stage of the Perth Big Day Out and becoming a headline band of their own, Full Scale were signed by Columbia Records in 2004 and the band moved to Los Angeles, California. A self-titled debut album was released by Columbia and the band toured America before parting ways at the end of 2005.

For the first half of 2006 Robkaay lived in Venice Beach, California, where he compiled a series of fictional books called the Robkaay Journals. The first volume from the series is entitled Robkaay Journals; My Glorious Nightmare. It is about an Australian rock musician moving to Los Angeles after being signed to a major American record label and his experiences with creating music, love, sex, drugs and rock & roll. The Robkaay Journals are loosely based on Robkaay's own ten year musical experiences told in a diary format. He wrote a soundtrack album for the books entitled Unleash The Phoenix, which will be released with the third volume.Robkaay Journals; My Glorious Nightmare was released early 2008 with no marketing or promotion on Robkaay's website.

The second half of 2006 saw Robkaay move to the Gold Coast in Queensland, where he became the new bass player for metal band Sunk Loto. The band had been writing a new album for the past few years and was meant to release it in 2007, but they decided to call it a day after doing an Australian tour with Cog and playing the Brisbane Overcranked Festival in March 2007.

Out of the Sunk Loto wreckage Rob created, Jason Brown (singer) and Dane Brown (drummer) decided to start a new band with Robkaay (bass) called The Flood The Flood. For six months, five days a week, they demoed nearly 20 songs. But, after a brief break, at the end of 2007, Jason and Dane decided they didn't like the demo's and wanted to scrap the whole project.During this time Robkaay had been writing his fifth book, but his first 'real' novel - not including the journals. It is a fantasy/thriller fiction novel that will be released sometime in 2008.

After being away from his family for over 8 years, in January 2008, Robkaay moved back to Perth, where he concentrated on releasing the new novel and began research on the next one.
