Catherine Barnett

Catherine Barnett (born 1960) is an American poet and instructor at NYU and Teachers & Writers Collabrative. Barnett was born in San Francisco and received a B.A. from Princeton University and an MFA from Warren Wilson College MFA Program for Writers.

Her first collection of poems "Into Perfect Spheres Such Holes are Pierced" (Alice James Books, 2003) won the 2003 Beatrice Hawley Award. In 2004, she was awarded the Whiting Writer's Award and the 2004 Glasgow Prize for Emerging Writers.
