Plugtest

A plugtest is a rarely used term describing the test on portable electrical equipment to comply with UK health and safety laws. More commonly referred to as portable appliance testing or PAT Testing, and correctly referred to as In-Service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment. Typical tests include Earth Bond Resistance, Insulation Resistance & Earth Current Leakage. Testing should be carried out at regular intervals to ensure continual safety; the period of which depending on both the type of appliance and the environment it is used in.
