Kommunion Recording Company

Kommunion Recording Company is a record label which was founded by Khanoda in 1995. The name of the label is a derivative of Communion and its definition meaning connection: a relationship, especially one in which something is communicated or shared. Kommunion is a division of Khanoda's music, publishing and multi-media company, Lemon Meringue Communications, also known as LEMCOM, established in 1993. Kommunion was initially designed as a "ghost label" for artists he would sign to LEMCOM's more commercial oriented label, Lemon Meringue Entertainment, to experiment with new sounds and/or work with other artists from the LME roster to form new bands and release the material under pseudonyms. The idea was never fully realized when in 1996 Lemon Meringue Entertainment quietly dissolved due to the lack of financial resources for marketing and distribution.

Khanoda used the Kommunion imprint in 1997 when he released an EP in the UK titled, "603muv", and later released "klosure. DISPOSABLE KLASSIX AND OTHER POTENTIAL FAILURES (1988 - 1998)" in November 1998. The latter release has gone on to sell over 100,000 copies which is considered a success for an independent release. In 1999 Khanoda joined with The Orchard, an online music distributor co-founded by producer and songwriter Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, The Go-Go's), to distribute Kommunion releases through online retail outlets like Amazon.com and where people can legally download Khanoda's music to their computer through Napster and iTunes as well as to their cell phones through V CAST from Verizon Wireless.
