experimental music band from Australia formed in1975 bySteve Maxwell Von Braund andGeoff Green . After the release of Braund's 1975 album, "Monster Planet" which Green, as well asGil Matthews (Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs ),Henry Vyhnal andJim Keays (The Masters Apprentices ) contributed to, some songs from this album were later added to the re-releasedCD , "Cybotron".Cybotron released a self-titled album in
1976 containing mainlysynthesizers andsaxophone . Stylistically, Cybotron were similar to their contemporaries; innovative bands such asAsh Ra Tempel ,Hawkwind andTangerine Dream . They were creating minimalist, repetitive electronica at the same time thatKraftwerk released "Autobahn". Throughout subsequent decades, their music received very little recognition from those outside electronic music circles. All albums were remastered for CD by
Mark Woods in September2002 .In 2002, member Geoff Green announced that Cybotron may be re-recording.As of 2006 , progress has come to a halt. Green and Braund remain good friends.Discography
