Villar started his career for Paraguayan club Sol de América where he was coached by legendary goalkeeper
Ever Hugo Almeida , from whom he learned to develop his goalkeeping skills. Afterwards, Villar moved to a bigger Paraguayan club, Libertad, in which he won back-to-back national championships in 2002 and 2003 in theLiga Paraguaya . In 2004, Villar was transferred to Argentinian clubNewell's Old Boys and led the team to the 2004 Apertura championship in Argentina, where he was considered by the Argentinian press as the best goalkeeper for that year. Villar also won theParaguayan Footballer of the Year award in 2004.In January 2008, terms were agreed upon by Newell's Old Boys and
Real Valladolid ofSpain for Villar's transfer in the summer of 2008. On July 14, 2008, Justo Villar was presented to his new team. He will be one of the keepers available there for the 2008-2009 La Liga season.International career

FIFA World Youth Championship , and was selected for the 2006 World Cup squad. Unfortunately, he had a brief participation at the World Cup.
