Justo Wilmar Villar (born June 30, 1977 in Cerrito) is a Paraguayan football goalkeeper, who has played over 50 games for the Paraguay national team. Club career

Villar started his career for Paraguayan club Sol de América where he was coached by legendary goalkeeper Ever Hugo Almeida, from whom he learned to develop his goalkeeping skills. Afterwards, Villar moved to a bigger Paraguayan club, Libertad, in which he won back-to-back national championships in 2002 and 2003 in the Liga Paraguaya. In 2004, Villar was transferred to Argentinian club Newell's Old Boys and led the team to the 2004 Apertura championship in Argentina, where he was considered by the Argentinian press as the best goalkeeper for that year. Villar also won the Paraguayan Footballer of the Year award in 2004.

In January 2008, terms were agreed upon by Newell's Old Boys and Real Valladolid of Spain for Villar's transfer in the summer of 2008. On July 14, 2008, Justo Villar was presented to his new team. He will be one of the keepers available there for the 2008-2009 La Liga season.

International career

For the national team he played in the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, and was selected for the 2006 World Cup squad. Unfortunately, he had a brief participation at the World Cup. During the first seven minutes of his debut against England, just after Carlos Gamarra's own goal, Villar got injured, and subsequently he was sidelined for the rest of the tournament, in which Paraguay was eliminated in the first round. Aldo Bobadilla played in his place.
