Assault Gliders were used in many operations duringWWII , including theBattle of the Netherlands , theInvasion of Crete , theInvasion of Sicily ,Operation Overlord ,Operation Market Garden ,Operation Varsity and theChindit campaign. The Trust hopes to commemorate these actions by building anAirspeed Horsa and an AmericanCG-4A Waco . The Trust also aim to convert aDakota to its original parachute and glider tug function.
