- John Martin Robinson
Dr John Martin Robinson, FSA, (b. 1948) is a British architectural historian and
officer of arms .He was born in
Preston, Lancashire and educated at theBenedictine school atFort Augustus , theUniversity of St Andrews (MA) and matriculated to Oriel College, Oxford University for hisDPhil in 1970. He worked for theGreater London Council Historic Buildings Division from 1974.He is Maltravers Herald of Arms Extraordinary at the
College of Arms , and was formerly Fitzalan Pursuivant of Arms Extraordinary from 1982. He was appointedLibrarian to theEarl Marshal in 1978.Robinson is also a Knight of Magistral Grace of the
Sovereign Military Order of Malta . He lives at Beckside House,Lancashire . Dr. Robinson is an active member of theGeorgian Group .Bibliography
