Nick Garrett is a bass-baritone from London, England and a former member of Amici Forever; he composed all the vocal arrangements for the band's 2005 album, "Defined".
Having taught himself to play the piano at age seven, he was accepted by Trinity College of Music to study singing, composition, piano and conducting, before winning a much-coveted singing grant from the Wolfson Foundation. He then joined the world-renowned vocal ensemble the Swingle Singers and toured with them internationally. After leaving the Swingle Singers, he performed in some of the world's leading opera houses, including the Royal Opera House, the English National Opera, the Scottish Opera and the Opera National de Paris. He has performed over thirty major roles, including Don Giovanni, Figaro and Colline.
2006 has already seen Nick performing the role of Sagredo in the World Premiere of "Galileo" by Michael Jarrell at the Grand Theatre Geneva and Laurent in "Thérèse Raquin" by Tobias Picker at the Linbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Garrett was the original bass-baritone and the creative force behind the opera band Amici Forever. His vocal contribution is still a powerful and enduring contribution to their global success, although he left the band to pursue his solo recording career in 2005.
