Desmond "Des" MacHale is an associate professor of Mathematics at University College Cork, Ireland.[1] He is a prolific author on various subjects, most notably humour. He has written fourteen books of lateral thinking problems[2] with author Paul Sloane.He is a native of Castlebar Co Mayo.
