This album = "Frijid Pink" (1970)
Next album = "Defrosted" (1970)"Frijid Pink" is the debut
album by Detroit rock bandFrijid Pink . It was released in early 1970, under the now-defunctParrot Records label.Initial reception
Late 1969, Frijid Pink's distorted cover of "
House of the Rising Sun " was released as a single. The song soon soared to Top Ten on theU.S. Billboard Hot 100 (#7 in February, 1970), selling over a million copies. The band followed up their success by releasing debut, self-titled LP early 1970. Good result was reached (#11), but did not measure up to the fame from their hit single. Their following LP, "Defrosted", garnished even less success (#149).Track listing errors
The album was released on German
CD (1991, Repertoire Records) including two bonus tracks ("Heartbreak Hotel " and "Music For The People") that were originally released as singles in 1970 and 1971, respectively. One of the CD later re-releases, being the most widely distributed copy, had no two tracks (## 5 and 6) of nine tracks of the original LP printed in the track listing on the cover, and some CD sources adopted it to repeat.Track listing
