The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth

The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth was a direct to video musical puppet series made in the early 1990s. It was about the adventures of a talking tooth named Timmy and all his friends. Despite the dental overtones, there were very few lessons on brushing or tooth care (similar to Veggie Tales having nothing to do with nutrition). Rather, the series was about using your imagination to go on adventures with a few morals at the end about things such as sharing and not being afraid of thunder and lightning. The 10 videos feature the gang of Flossmore Valley as they go on adventures using their imaginations.

Created and written by James Murray, Dina Fraboni, and Kevin Carlson, who puppeteered and voiced the lead character, Timmy the Tooth. The show featured many talented puppeteers including Allan Trautman, Bruce Lanoil, Michael Earl, Christine Papelexis, Cheryl Blaylock, Todd Mattox, Greg Ballora, James Murray, Kevin Carlson, Dina Faboni, and Phil Baron, who also was the voice of the popular toy Teddy Ruxpin. Characters were designed by Drew Massey and Bob Fappiano. Puppets were built by Randy Simper and Bob Fappiano.

Several puppets were later reused in the FOX series Greg the Bunny, (notably the Cavity Goon as "Cranky").

Characters

Timmy the Tooth: An adventurous tooth who is always ready for fun! He is the main character who is always there to set a good example for kids and teach good life lessons. He lives with his best friend, Brushbrush and is prone to burst into song at any given moment.

Brushbrush: A toothbrush/dog creature who is Timmy's best friend. He never truly speaks, but rather whispers or "bristles" his words, although Timmy can understand him. The others on the show, however, have trouble. Brushbrush appears to be Timmy's pet and portrayed as thus; he wears a collar and growls like an angry dog when provoked.

Bubbles Gum: Timmy's blue-colored friend is always ready to help Timmy as well as adventure. She tends to take lead of things.

Anette: Timmy's yellow-colored friend is a bit of a ditz, but always there for her friends.

Sydney: Timmy's one-eyed friend who wants to become the greatest paperboy in the world. He is younger than Timmmy and looks up to his best friend. He got to star in the episode "An Eye For a Tooth".

Ms.Flossie: A cowgirl of sorts who is constantly having a good time. Despite her name, she looks blob-esque, with no relation to floss.

Waxie: Flossie's Horse who is quite amusing, especially when she tries to eat the daisies.

Johnny Paste: A large, muscular, toothpaste container. Another one of Timmy's friends, he is well-meaning, but not all that bright.

Mr.Wisdom: An old tooth who lives up in the mountains. He gives advice to the Flossmore gang when they need it.

The Cavity Goon: The main villain, the Cavity Goon (Otherwise known as Goonius Nemesis III) is a disgusting sight---A green creature covered with warts (plaque, perhaps?) and a mouth full of decayed sharp teeth. He wears clothes that appear to be made of ripped-up leaves and is constantly bothering Timmy and his friends. In the episode "Lost My Brush", he even tried to kidnap Timmy (plus Brushbrush to lure him) in an attempt to turn him over to the Tooth Fairy for money!

Ms. Sweety: The Cavity Goon's only sidekick. She is an enormous mint candy, who always joins her boss on his plots.

The Gingivitis Gang: The series' other antagonists are the nasty Gingivitis Gang. Not nearly as evil as the Cavity Goon, they spend most of their time looking for trouble and picking on Timmy and his friends. But, like most bullies, they're really all talk and fairly harmless.
