Inhalation therapy

Inhalation therapy

Inhalation therapy is a discipline of medicine which deals with the oxygenation and respiratory system of clients. In the United States this discipline is referred to as Respiratory therapy.

Inhalation therapists are generally licensed technicians who work in hospital environments under the direction and supervision of a doctor. Their work includes assisting with intubation, drawing arterial blood gas samples, and providing medication via nebulization. In the United States this role is filled by Respiratory therapists, who are referred to as clinician rather than a technician.
