March 7 1947 ,Stenhousemuir ) is a Scottish Labour Co-operative politician and has represented Dunfermline East in theScottish Parliament since 1999.Eadie was educated at
Larbert High School , and is a graduate of theLondon School of Economics where she received a Certificate in Trade Union Studies (Industrial Relations Department) in 1970. She is a member of theChurch of Scotland , and is married with two grown up daughters. Prior to her election toHolyrood was a full time trade union official for the GMB and a councillor onFife Council . Her father-in-law is former MP for MidlothianAlex Eadie . Eadie has worked for her father-in-law and Harry Ewing atWestminster , and was onJames Callaghan 's general election campaign team.At Holyrood Eadie has been a member of the Transport and Environment Committee and served as Depute Convener of the Public Petitions Committee in the first session of the Scottish Parliament. Until 2003 Helen served as a member of the European Committee and currently in the second session of the Scottish Parliament is a member of both the Health Committee and the Public Petitions Committee.
