Biography

Unni Warrier is a tech entrepreneur. He founded HealthBack in 2004 to provide turnkey management services for Independent Physical Groups (IPAs) and HMOs. Before that, Warrier started Kron in 1998 with long-time business partner Anne Lam to provide integrated communications solutions to both the public and private sectors. Prior to Kron, Warrier founded CyberMedia, a provider of automatic PC service and support software, and served as its CEO from 1991 to 1998. Warrier grew the company from revenues of $5 million in early 1995 to more than $40 million in 1996. He took the company public later that year and was awarded "IPO of the Year" by Red Herring, as well as "Entrepreneur of the Year" by the Software Council of Southern California. In 1997, the company's revenues exceeded $70 million. Deloitte and Touche recognized CyberMedia as the fastest growing company in Los Angeles from 1993-1997. In 1989, Warrier founded NetLabs, a network management company that was later sold to Seagate Technologies.

Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on behalf of purchasers of CyberMedia, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYBR) common stock during the Class Period of July 22, 1997 through March 13, 1998.

The defendants include CyberMedia and certain of its officers and directors, including Warrier. The Complaint charges that defendants violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10-b(5) by, among other things: issuing false misleading statements regarding CyberMedia's financial condition as well as its present and future business prospects and improperly accounting for its return reserves in violation of generally accepted accounting principles.
