Heber Ackland

Commander Heber Kemble Ackland, MVO, RN, was Equerry to The Queen from 2004 to 2007.

He was educated at the University of Oxford, where he graduated MA.

He joined the Royal Navy in the Supply branch, on a full term commission. He qualified as a staff officer and was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander 1 November 1999 and to Commander in 2006. He was made a Member of the Royal Victorian Order ("MVO") in 2007 for personal service to the Royal Family.
