Lincoln High School, founded in 1954, is the Lincoln Unified School District's only public high school. The school serves thousands of students from ethnically and socio-economically diverse populations.

Facilities

*Alex G. Spanos Stadium

*In 2008, Lincoln High is planning to complete construction of a three-story gym.
*With support from the Lincoln Education Foundation, the District hopes to build a performing arts building on the Lincoln High campus.

Academics

According to California Department of Education's report in 1956, Lincoln High had a graduation rate of 97% with about 50% of graduates going on to two and four-year colleges. Unfortunately, the graduation rate has dropped precipitously since 1956.

Each Student is required to take some basics courses including but not limited to the following:4 years of English (including English 9 and 10 and, beginning in the 2009-10 school year, the student's choice of AP Language and Composition, AP Language and Literature, English 11, and English 12),2 years of Mathematics or the completion of geometry,3.5 years of Social Science (Including a freshman Geography semester, World History, US History, and U.S. Government/Economics),2 years of Physical Education (four if student fails to pass the Fitness-Gram test),2 years of Sciences (one life science course and one lab course),1 Semester of a Health Course,and 9 additional Elective Courses

Lincoln High Schools has a wide array of courses offered to students in all areas of education, including but not limited to, foreign language, performing arts, physical education, science, history, mathematics, english, art, fashion, computer science, student leadership, and film.

Most academic courses are college preparatory or Advanced Placement (AP).

Extracurriculars

The school has over 30 academic organizations, teams and student interest clubs. These clubs have focuses ranging from athletics to academics.

peech and Debate

Due to budget cuts, Speech and Debate will likely exist as a program but not as a class with a full-time instructor during the 2008-2009 school year.

Visual and Performing Arts

Lincoln High School has a Visual & Performing Arts Department. Students with interests in the arts are offered courses in music (band, choir, orchestra, piano, guitar, electronic music and music theory), drama (acting, stagecraft and production) and visual arts (traditional & computer art, photography and ceramics). The music department's tradition of excellence around Northern California continues. It and its instructors are well regarded throughout the greater Stockton community and Northern California.

Journalism

The student-produced newspaper, "The Lincolnian" is printed approximately every three weeks.

NJROTC

The Naval science course electives are taught by the NSI Senior Chief Mark Williams. The course teaches leadership, moral values, and discipline to its cadets. The students are required to wear a uniform once a week. Weekly curriculum includes military drill, naval history, current events, color guard, orienteering, and a weekly physical training day when the cadets run, exercise, and participate in games.

The program is company-sized and therefore referred to as Trojan Company. There are two classrooms and two storage rooms for the unit to hold uniforms, drill rifles, swords, and all other equipment. Twice a week on the designated uniform day, the company has a company-wide meeting for fifteen to twenty minutes at lunch, which is commonly referred to as "formation". During this time, the company acts as a whole. Awards, ranks, and other news are handed out at these meetings.

NJROTC(Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) is a cadet-run program, and has a leadership consisting of a Commanding officer, Executive officer, Operations officer, and other common naval ranks.

The company has two teams, a drill team and a color guard, both of which are highly decorated. Lincoln High School's award-winning color guard only in drill competitions and at the opening of football games and other school functions. They are often requested by local groups to perform color guard during the national anthem. The ROTC Color Guard is a separate entity from the Lincoln High School Color Guard.

Clubs

Clubs at Lincoln include Japanese Club, Healthy Habbits, Helping Hands, Movie Club, Dance Club, Pink Ladies, Polynesian Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, Cordoba Club (Public Affairs), Italian Club, Chinese Cultural Student Society, Filipino Club, Khmer club, Leo's Club, FOCUS Club, Drama Club, Science Club, Interact Club, M.E.C.H.A Club, Black Student Union (BSU), Club TEAM (Trojans Energized Assist Military & Families), Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), F.A.P Club, Desi Club, Key Club, History Club, and the Planteteers club.

Each club has the following responsibilities:
*Organize one lunchtime activity per semester
*Participate in Spirit Week, Club Rush, and Multi-Cultural Week
*Have a representative attend Club Presidents MeetingsFailures to meet requirements result in fines levied against the club's account
