Hangu is a developing area. It has one civil hospital, two government high schools for boys and two government schools for girls. There is a government degree college for boys and girls as well. Numbers of private sector educational institutions are also contributing to promote the social sector educational ratio.
There is a Police Training College (PTC) in Hangu.An
Orakzai Agency headquarter is also situated in Hangu which works for the tribal area of FATA.Tribes
