Baath party official inDujail in 1982, when he is accused of having participated in the executions of 140 people, and the illegal detentions of 1500.The charges allege that these were retaliatory killings, as retribution for an attack on
Saddam Hussein 's motorcade in the region.In all images of the defendants at trial, Ali is seen seated in the center of the back row.
