Lee Lorenz

Lee Lorenz (1933 [ [http://www.artnet.com/artist/710714/lee-lorenz.html Lee Lorenz on artnet ] ] - ) is an American cartoonist, most notable for his work in "The New Yorker". Lorenz is an alumnus of Carnegie Tech and the Pratt Institute.http://www.artoftheprint.com/artistpages/lorenz_lee_eccefemina.htm] His first published cartoon appeared in 1956, and he began working for "The New Yorker" as a commissioned artist from 1958 onwards.

Lorenz became art editor at "The New Yorker" in 1973. He retired as art editor in 1998.

Lorenz has edited and written books on the art found in "The New Yorker", as well as the artists themselves, including "The Art of The New Yorker" (1995) and "The World of William Steig" (1998).
