Eldon Dedini (
June 29 ,1921 –January 12 ,2006 ) was an American cartoonist whose work has appeared in Esquire,The New Yorker , Playboy, and elsewhere. He received theNational Cartoonists Society Gag Cartoon Award for 1958, 1961, 1964, and 1988 for his work.Fantagraphics Books published a collection of his work, "An Orgy of Playboy's Dedini", ISBN 1-56097-727-2 in 2006. The book is bundled with a documentary "Dedini: A life of Cartoons" by Anson Musselman. His work is raunchy and humorous, but never pornographic, and is liberally sprinkled with leering satyrs and wide-eyed, amply-endowed young nymphs.While his hometown was Carmel, California and he was born in King City, California, the nearby town of
Salinas, California , hosted an exhibition of his work, "Broccoli & Babes: The Cartoons and Posters of Eldon Dedini", which ran fromNovember 4 ,2005 untilJanuary 20 ,2006 at theSasoontsi Gallery .References
