Roy Doty

Roy Doty (1922- ) is an American cartoonist who worked in the advertising industry, among others. He began his career as a freelancer in 1946. His "Wordless Workshop", a popular home improvement series, ran as a syndicated feature for 50 years. For three years (1969-71), he wrote and drew the syndicated comic strip "Laugh-In", based on "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In". Doty was recognized for his work with the National Cartoonist Society Reuben Illustrator of the Year Award for 2006, Advertising Award for 1978, Advertising and Illustration Award for 1967, 1970, 1996, and 1999, Commercial Award for 1989, and Greeting Card Award for 1994 and 1997.
